Integration Further Demonstrates Openness and Extensibility of Appcelerator Platform
Mountain View, CA – September 10, 2014 – Today Appcelerator, provider of the leading enterprise mobile engagement platform, announced it has joined AirWatch® AppShield™. Mobile apps built on the Appcelerator Platform have confirmed interoperability when deployed via AirWatch by VMware, the leading enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider. Additionally, Appcelerator will be featured on the AirWatch Marketplace and distinguished with an AppShield– MADP (mobile application development platform) seal. The news demonstrates Appcelerator’s ongoing commitment to interoperating with providers throughout the enterprise mobility space to provide the largest set of capabilities possible to its customers to manage and deploy mobile apps.
Successful mobile app strategies require enterprises to rapidly deploy multiple employee-facing apps, without sacrificing security or control. Appcelerator worked closely with AirWatch to enable the Appcelerator Platform to comply with AirWatch App Wrapping and SDK feature sets including app tunneling, single sign-on, data loss prevention restrictions, compromised device detection and other security features. IT administrators can simply wrap applications and be confident they are secure when deployed via AirWatch enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution.
“We designed our platform to be open and extensible, so we can integrate with top providers in the space and give our customers as many choices and capabilities as possible to deploy and manage their mobile app portfolios,” said Nolan Wright, CTO at Appcelerator. “AirWatch is a clear leader and trusted, innovative provider of EMM solutions to thousands of enterprises. Our customers that are building multiple mobile apps can now rest assured that they will work seamlessly with AirWatch EMM solutions, providing the security and management they need.”
Appcelerator recently launched a major upgrade to its Appcelerator Platform, which combines leading native cross-platform app development and testing capabilities with innovations for mobilizing data and measuring success via real-time mobile analytics. These functionalities are built so companies can drive intuitive and engaging mobile experiences, quickly and at scale.
“Our customers are making strategic investments to build applications that drive employee engagement, collaboration and productivity, and we designed the AppTrust Program to make it simple for customers who leverage MADPs,” said John Marshall, senior vice president and general manager, AirWatch by VMware. “The AirWatch AppTrust Program and AppTrust – MADP seal on these applications will provide our customers the confidence to deploy these solutions knowing they are compatible with the AirWatch platform.”
